Peter Parker was a student, working his way through school as a freelance photographer - with most of his photos going to the Daily Bugle. One day, Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider and acquired incredible powers.

Now, Parker lives a double life: mild student, and secret superhero - as Peter Parker dons the costume of Spider Man, fighting to rid the city of crime.

After the spider bite, Parker doesn't look any different. But, like a spider, he has strength far out of proportion to his size. Parker also has incredible balance. And when danger threatens, his "spider sense" tingles.

In addition to the powers that Parker acquired from the radioactive spider, Parker used his knowledge of science and engineering to produce unique gauntlets that enable him to throw "spider webs" that he can use to grab things, swing on, and tie up bad guys.
